Sony finally released the PS4 Remote Play app for iOS today, which allows you to play your favourite PS4 games on your iPhone or iPad provided you’re connected to WiFi.

How do I Change Remote Play Settings?
Hit the gear-shaped icon on the top right of the app to change settings. You can adjust the resolution of the stream, from 360p all the way up to 1080p. You can also change your frame rate, sign into a different network account, and connect to different PS4s. This means friends can use your device to connect to their PS4s.
Which iOS Devices Are Supported?
You’ll need at least an iPhone 7 or sixth generation iPad to use Remote Play. It won’t work on any lower device.
Can I Connect to My PS4 Using a Different WiFi Network?
Technically, this is feasibly possible, but we couldn’t get this to function during our test. We were even using a much faster internet connection than our home connect, but it said that the speed was too slow.
We’d recommend only trying if you have an insanely fast internet speed, otherwise you’ll have to bit the bullet and only use Remote Play while at home.
Can I Play With a DualShock 4?
Sadly not. Given that iOS doesn’t support this controller, Remote Play doesn’t either.
What About MFi Controllers?
Yep! Fortunately, any MFi controller works just fine on the Remote Play app. We had a great experience using the SteelSeries Nimbus.

Other settings about the quality of games being played can be managed; standard options include the resolution and the frame rate. These can be changed depending on your connection speed. It supports 360p, 540p, 720p or 1080p.
All in all, the remote play capabilities of Sony PS consoles has improved a lot from the initial attempts with PS3. This application supports both PS4 and PS5 consoles.
